The official launch of the new Leica Gallery in Mayfair is being marked with an exhibition celebrating British photography. A selection of photographs by Terence Donovan are being shown alongside work by his contemporaries, Brian Duffy, Terry O’Neill and John Swannell.

Celebrating three decades of fashion imagery from the 1960s to the 1980s, the exhibition will showcase the new visual language developed and championed by these photographers which was transformative in terms of magazine and broadsheet covers.

Three vintage silver gelatin photographs from the archive are included; An image from a 1977 Vogue shoot which used Euston station as a backdrop, a 1978 fashion shot of model Josephine Florent in the Grosvenor Hill Car Park taken for Boulevard magazine, and a study from Donovan’s 1983 book ‘Glances.

The exhibition has been curated by photography specialist, Lou Proud.
